SNAPSHOT TOUR OF CROSSWOODHILL
Hoping to visit Scotland? Join us on a fun farm tour of Crosswoodhill via a mosaic of images…..
First, whilst you wait for the pictures to download, can I introduce you to your would-be hosts...

Hew, the Farmer, a true Scot, born and bred at Crosswoodhill. His family, the Hamiltons, have farmed here for generations on the Pentland Hills.

Me, “G”, a nurse by profession, and a Scot by adoption. Despite living in Scotland now for over 30 years I have been unable to lose my English accent! Wedded to both Hew and the farm and no longer able to travel the world, the world now comes to us at Crosswoodhill and we have welcomed guests from every corner of the globe to our quality self catering accommodation near Edinburgh.

Ready to go? Here’s an overview of Crosswoodhill Farmhouse (entirely separate from our 2 detached properties, Midcrosswood and Steading Cottage, which are only tantalisingly glimpsed on this Snap Tour Page. The Wing is in the middle section .   Orlege End is at the far end of the farmhouse, obscured in this photo by the maple tree . Its roof profile has altered since this photo was taken . To the far left of the photo is the car parking area close to the open shed.)

Crosswoodhill Farmhouse
The entry door to the Self-Catering Wing of Crosswoodhill Farmhouse accommodation is via the rear garden, close to where the more sharp-eyed of you will detect a washing line post which appears to emerge from a chimney! Don’t worry, it’s an optical illusion! Though it may look as if the lines are strung between chimneys, the posts are firmly rooted in the ground …we don’t expect guests to climb nimbly up to the roof to hang out their washing!

Key arrival point for our guests. We live in this part of the house.
