Welcome...
Escape
the city crowds, park your car with ease and enjoy the freedom of self-catering
in one of our four centrally heated, stone-built, traditional and contemporary
homes. Graded
annually by VisitScotland as being "of a very good /excellent / exceptional
standard" our 3, 4 and 5 STAR properties offer almost everything
you could wish for to make your stay enjoyable. Relax
in front of an open fire, enjoy a video, the hi-fi, a book or board game. Or,
pull on your boots to explore our livestock farm and listen to birdsong...
Pictured here are our 4 properties,
all uniquely different, but all sharing the Crosswoodhill trademarks of
charm, character, warmth, style, home comforts and caring hosts. Most
have 3 bedrooms and all are available all year round. Three
properties are pet and wheelchair-friendly.
White, light and bright,
with beautiful fittings and fabrics, the interiors are exceptionally tasteful
and pleasing to the eye. "The decor is superb... the eye for detail
amazing" is a typical comment in our Visitors' Books.
Choose
between Midcrosswood
(above), a gem of a cottage one mile distant on the heather-clad moors
of the Pentland Hills,
Steading
Cottage at the hub of the farm, or the self-contained Wing
of Crosswoodhill, a 2-storey apartment in our spacious, handsome, 200
year old, farmhouse. (The Wing is located in the older part of the building,
spanning from the centre to far left of the photo).
Alternatively, Orlege End, our newest addition, with its 5 Star grading, may
offer just the relaxing luxurious break you need.
And don't just take our word
for it that Crosswoodhill Cottages are special.

For business people, with
or without family, Crosswoodhill offers a real home from home. Just
twenty minutes' drive away from commercially thriving Livingston, West
Lothian, and 35 minutes from the heart of Edinburgh, a home on the Pentland
Hills is the perfect place to unwind.
"Having
come to Crosswoodhill for the first time last year we had to come
again to see if it was really as good as we thought it was. Happily it was!! In
a (Visitors') Book full of superlatives it is difficult to add anything new,
but this is not really a holiday cottage, it's a fantastic home
for a week."
To get a good feel for
all our very different properties, why not have a look at some of the other
nice things our guests have written? And whilst
on our Comments Page, smile at the antics of our
cows, enjoy a panoramic view of the Pentland Hills..and feel welcomed in Scotland.
